Classical Pianist
Kristine Leinani Ming, a native of the Hawaiian Islands, was born and raised on the island of Oahu. She studied piano since the age of 5 and made her debut with the Honolulu Symphony at age 12. Since then she has performed on numerous occasions with the Honolulu Symphony as a guest artist and in recitals in the United States. She has won top prizes at the Blue Lake Concerto Competition in Michigan and Young Keyboard Artist Association. Ms. Ming was the first pianist from Hawaii to be selected as a finalist for the General Motors and Seventeen Magazine Concerto Competition at Oberlin College in Ohio. Only nine pianist from the United States and Canada were invited to participate in the event. Her musical mentors in Hawaii include: Ellen Masaki, Evelyn Zuckerman, and Ernest Chang. She also won First Place in Hawaii’s Search for Talent, a winner of the Morning Music Club Award, & numerous other piano honors.

Ms. Ming currently holds a Master’s Degree in Music (Piano Performance) from Indiana University School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Yale University. She studied with the acclaimed Menahem Pressler, founder of the Beaux Arts Trio and current long-standing juror of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Her latest CD will be released featuring music from Scriabin, Beethoven, and Schumann.
